One day, as we embarked on a drive through the picturesque winding mountains out of The Valley, we encountered an unexpected challenge with our one-year-old daughter, Ruth. Little did we know that she had a tendency to get car sick. Unfortunately, at this age, she couldn’t communicate her discomfort to us verbally, leaving us unaware of what was about to happen. Ruth is 1!

Our baby girl is now a 1-year-old. With her birthday being the day after Christmas, it’s important to me to make it a day that is clearly unique from Christmas. To start off a new tradition, I made her a birthday tree topper. Every year she will get to put it up Christmas night. And now I’m pulling an all-nighter to decorate her cake. Ruth turned me into Martha Stewart this holiday season. And I’m totally cool with this.
